Hi all
I'm in Wales (if my username never gave that away...) and my exchange is set for upgrading to FTTC next year, but I'm on an exchange only line (my phone goes direct to the exchange in town and not to a cabinet). The distance is about 400-450m wire length according to google maps.
I cannot find any definite info on exchange only lines and how they get fibre speeds. Has a solution been solved and being installed or not? I cannot see how the Welsh assembly will get their 96% target to get speeds over 30mb by 2015 unless a solution has been sorted.
Can anyone enlighten me on what will happen to my connection, assuming the usual provisos about individual glitches, or direct me to some released info. There have been rumours of FTTP, cabs being put in at the exchange and other ideas being tried but nothing confirmed nationally.
Thanks in advance
