Correct but not needed :).

get some mats, also beware of giving the bonnet a Glaswegian kiss ;)

The mats from Renault were £35 so was going to look into Hellfords first and see if they had some for a bit cheaper. Chances are though we'll end up going back to Renault and getting theirs anyway.

Its ******* crap, got one on holiday at the mo 1.2 it is totally gutless its dangerous. You cannot feel any acceleration at all even from a standstill, its all noise no go. Handlings good thats it, 11k km on the one I have and it is rattling like mad.

It will have cruise control at least :) and a max speed setting I found out today. Oh and it just hits 165KPH which I think is about a ton, but it took me 50KM to reach :D.

Enjoy :D

It has an overdrive function, where the accelerator goes beyond the normal travel, but yet to find out bar make more noise actually does.

out of 10 it gets 1! because it gets from A to B without having to walk!

i had a 2001 or 2002 (may have been 53 actually...) 1.2 16v clio for a while a few years back. youre right, they are not fast, but bloody hell that thing was a hoot to chuck about.

revvy little engine, it had about 40k miles and wasnt too rattly, i suspect the one you drove was treated like typical hire car fodder and thrashed every day of its life lol

i like the clios of that era. my brother rolled one eventually and it really stood up well in the smash up.

shame that the 'new' ones are old ones in drag, they do looks a bit minging too.

hope the OP's parents got a good discount

Tuesday afternoon i'll be collecting my first brand new car and I can't wait. I had a 98 Reg micra for 4 years that was bought for me after my test but that went at the start of the year and now im back from uni my parents have very kindly bought me a 07 Reg Clio Campus Sport.

I know it's no Ferrari/M series BMW/Merc but my godness am I looking forward to picking it up :D.

Will post piccies when I get it back.

There really is something about owning a brand new car.
My last two have been brand new:
Megane Hatch Sport Elise
307 SE

And I've (am still) enjoyed them both over the time I owned/have owned them.
My next car won't be a brand new one as having bought brand new I'm aware of just how much value they lose over the first 12-18 months.
So once I've finished paying for the current car I shall then be looing at a 12-18 month old one to replace it with.

However getting into a vehicle with <20 miles on the clock knowing every mile put on is done by you.
Backed up with 3yrs of not having to worryh about an MOT, etc...
Enjoy your new car - it's your pride and joy and that's the imporant thing.
You'll always find plenty of people who'll tell you you've not got a great vehicle (even those that have never owned what you've got).
It's life - let them get on with it.

The clip that attaches the arm and the wiper blade was bodged on when we picked it up. Put the wipers on when we were travelling home and the clip pretty much exploded into little bits. Took it back to the garage and they just put a new clip on it, problem solved :) .

Enjoy your new car :)

Just taken the BM 2.0l diesel I have at the mo, and the power nearly snapped my neck when I floored it in 2nd :p, damn wierd being back on the right side again, tried changing gear out of the open window a couple of times :-P

Not sure if your trying to make this into a competition my friend by just incase I raise your 2.0 BMW to 3.4L of fun in this beauty :p . However, I can't claim to have driven it above 15mph as I have been refused a place on the insurance. But I can say I have been in it and left other road users 4 miles behind :D.

Sorry gave you the wrong impression, its just a poo car to replace a Micra thats all, having had one for 2 weeks, the last time I drove something as slow as this was my first car a 1.3L Escort. But as already said the handling is spot on. The BMW is not mine either.

I see where your coming from then :). I agree it's not that quick and for the money im sure you could have got something faster. However, in the eyes of my parent's it was a good deal to get a brand new one with warranty, Tax, first owner etc, especially when some of the second hand one's were going for the same money. Another point was the insurance. The best deal we could find for fully comp was in mum's name with me as an addition driver and still this was just short of £500. Still a lot of money when bearing in mine I have 5 years driving experience, made no claims and 0 points.

On a plus note, as you said the handling is great and it's really fun through town/country roads, the Micra always felt a bit "skitty" whether in the dry or wet.
