Has anybody else read this book and what are your opinions of it? It was recommended to me by a CBT Therapist I was attending when I was suffering from depression a few years ago. I picked it up then but have only started reading it latley out of boredom more than anything. This rather highly educated therapist (so she claimed) stated that she held a great amount of faith in the "laws of attraction" & "Deliberate creation".

I consider myself to be fairly open minded and as a result have been trying the different exercises I've encountered so far... upto chapter 11. I can't say anything major has transpired but since doing this several coincidences have transpired in regards to my personal life. Now it could simply be a case of I have my eye out for coincidences so I'm noticing them but who can really say for sure...

Even if it is a complete load of rubbish, one thing I can say is some of the exercises can be put to good use in leading a happier life... mainly the taking note of your current mood and trying to change it.

So come on, anyone come across this and if so what do you think?

I'm not sure what you mean by coincidences but you might be talking about synchronicity: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synchronicity

This was propsed by the psychologist Carl Jung and it says that unlikely events can occur together in a meaningful manner but not have a causal relationship, and that they have special significance for the person seeing them, sort of like a "sign".

From Wiki:

In the 1984 film Repo Man, Miller's "Plate 'o' Shrimp" theory outlines the idea of synchronicity. The Miller character states that while many people see life as a series of unconnected incidents, he believes that there is a "lattice of coincidence that lays on top of everything" that is "part of a cosmic unconsciousness."

Fascinating... Will have a proper look at that later

Youd probably get a better response in Music, Box Office, TV & Books!

Perhaps, though never really considered it
