Hi All,

I am looking for advice on a new exercise bike.

Long story short (still long though sorry), I have been cycling more and more recently and just before Christmas bought a lovely new gravel bike and was going to do a lot of cycling in 2026.

A dog on the 31 January had other ideas and ran out in front of me, bike written off me very nearly written off too, six weeks later my lung and 8 broken ribs are much better but my new metal collarbone is still settling in.

I have decided not to go out cycling anymore and plan to get a reasonable exercise bike with the insurance money.

I’m looking at:-

Echelon EX5s
Wattbike Proton
Zwift Ride with Kickr Core 2

Out of these the Echelon is the only one that I’d fit according to the data, I’m 6’7” and the other two top out at 6’6”. Does anyone know how accurate these are?

The Wattbike is more upfront but no monthly fee.

The Zwift looks most fun.

With all three being pretty much web based it doesn’t look easy to go and have a play with them.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear about the off, glad you are healing.

I can't really help as I have only ever ridden the Zwift ride and I really liked it. I have a Tacx neo static bike i use for Zwift but when that packs up and its time for a change I will be getting the Zwift ride. I think you'd find it easier to find a Zwift ride somewhere though, bike shops definitely stock them. Some of the higher end clothing brands usually have one to try too, Rapha, Maap etc if you are anywhere near one of those places.
