Exhange ownership

Hey all basically my friend was told the nearest exchange to us would most likely be taken over by sky soonish, how much truth there is to this i dont know but am quite interested if theres a way to find out?

My understanding is if they have enough customers in the area they will buy it from BT or something? The reason for the interest is that the Sky MAX or whatever u call them packages would become available, which would be better than 4meg down 512 up

It won't be taken over by Sky, Sky will just install their kit in it. It's still owned by BT.

Still depends on how far you are from the exchange.

Ah right, well still he was told the higher range of packages, PLUS and stuff which offers 8meg down would become available. The BT website said we'd get 7meg due to our distance from the exchange which i wouldnt mind at all (when i was shopping around for the net)
