It's been a while and I'm looking to upgrade my ageing system that is over 5 years old now. I've managed to pre order the new AMD 9800X3D so now need a system to put it in! I'm currently chugging along with the AMD 3800X and Nvidia GTX 1080 so this new system will be quite quite a jump, super excitied.

Parts picked out so far:
My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,799.83 (includes delivery: £0.00)

I'm really not sure what to do on the GPU front, I'm also not sure if I'd be better off trying to squeeze in a 360 AIO instead of the 240 but the case can't be changed (fallen in love with it) and it will limit GPU options.

It should be fine, the 9800X3D is a pretty modest part on power.

Can you carry over the 1080 for a bit? I really wouldn't want to dump much on a high-end card right now. You could also look for a stopgap GPU in the BF sales.

I was going to have a look through the MM and find a stop gap GPU but noticed that I no longer have access. Maybe using the 1080 until what looks like January when the 5000 series will hopefully be coming out.

If it was me, I'd consider a 7800 XT or 4070 around £400 or less, but waiting until RDNA4 / 5000 series launch would be the best bet.
