Hi,

I've managed to snap the back of the SATA data connector on my Exos 16 TB, I tried to glue it back but it just snaps off every time, the pins and drive seem fine!

I think I'm probably going to have to get the PCB replaced, anybody done similar, any recommendations of where to get it done or cost?

Cheers

Not sure who the guy used
In this thread in the end up
But seems its not just swap pcb
May need to transplant the chip of the old pcb too

Someone gave me a drive once
Where they did the same
I put it in an external Dock where it worked fine
If you can gently connect it without
Bending the pins
As long as its somewhere it won't get moved
It may work anyway

You might get away using a very small amount of epoxy resin and letting it cure for the full 24 hours. As long as you're not constantly unplugging the drive, it should be fine.

Yeah good idea.Might be worth getting a sata and power extension cable and gluing these onto the hdd
That way you could disconnect the hdd with little chance of damaging the repaired connection :)
