I'm not at my PC now so cant get any detailed info.

My new system

Core 2 Duo 6600
EVGA Nforce 680i
BFG 8800GTX

Only getting around 8k on 3dmark06 Basic 1280x1024 however from what I read I should be getting more like 10k.

Any ideas?

You should be getting more than that, I get 8447 on my gts @ stock with similar setup.

Cpu at stock, If I overclock cpu @ 2997 I get just under 9000

I notice in ati tool that my memory for gts is at 380mhz this is wrong right?

Are you running the test with any AA/AF applied in the nvidia control panel?

If so, disable them both, shift everything else to the option that gives most performance and see if your score improves

Not sure - only just completed install so everything as default.

will check a bit more at the weekend - currently work is getting in the way of my pc build and configuration.

Had this rig for two weeks now and not really got a chance to use it

I got about 8600 in 06 with the rig in my sig. And thats on a WinXP install thats survived about a year or 2.

I got 11170 at stock speed with the [email protected]. Must be drivers or a setting or two somewhere.

yep you gotta have summat like high AF or some AA enabled , even with my lowly(relative to C2D) cpu I get 9780.

You should also run 3D Mark at 1024x768, not 1280x1024. Will not only give you a higher score, but can be directly compared to other's scores.

06 runs in 1280x1024 by default, whats the point in invalidating the score? Surely the point for the OP is to know if all is running correctly, in the ball park?
