Doing a search on here for the Gelid Tranquillo doesn't turn up many results but the reviews were really good for the price so I've taken the plunge and bought one.

Does anyone have an idea of what SB overclock I should be looking at before temps get too high? I'm going to go through the routine of doing it but it would be useful to have some thoughts on what the limits of the cooler are (given it's quite cheap :) ) so I can better trouble shoot - e.g. If I get to 4.4ghz and the temps are shooting up I don't waste time reapplying thermal paste and reseating it as the cooler is at it's limit

I know it will be partly dependent on the volts my chip will take at a particular overclock, but some info is better than none!

PS For those of you wondering why I bought a cooler without knowledge of how far it will get me, I was after a (very) cheap cooler that would fit in my case - it's got really good reviews, but they tests tended not to be on sandybridge chips (i7 950 et al).

Well, I've tried 4.5Ghz @1.3v and after an hour of Prime95 I've had a max of 68C on core #2 (others are 62, 64 & 66).

This is in a coolermaster 430 which is not the biggest case in the world but it does have 5 fans running (front & side intake, rear & 2 x top exhaust). Also using IC diamond paste which seems to be well regarded.

Going to try and reduce the volts now as 4.5 is a good enough over clock
