expected price for replacement clutch?

its a 16v 1.6 astra on an N reg (mk3??) with a manual box. what sort of price do you reckon it would cost for a clutch?

i'm guessing around £150 mark. the reason i'm asking is it has a noisy clutch release bearing (when you push the clutch peddle in it makes a noise - once out it's fine).

if i was to leave the clutch, how long would it last do you think and what sort of damage would it cause? i'm guessing the clutch would just stop working and it would be a case of replacing it with no other damage?

I paid £330 for a new clutch for my Fiat. I'm guessing that has no relation to how much one for a 1.6 Astra would be though.

Personally, I guess it depends how flush you are and how annoying the noise is. Sounds like something that could be left IMO.

About £70 for a decent one (from a motorfactors or the net)

edit: If left, the bearing will eventually go, and you'll be stuck without gears.
