Expected salary for chemical engineering position

Afternoon all,

I have had an interview for a Chemical Engineering role dealing mostly with decontamination and chemical clean up. During the end of the first interview they said I should consider what level of salary I would like to start on but I have no idea.

The job will be based in Germany and initially be on a reduced salary for training, but post training what should I consider asking for?

Any advice would be appreciated. My background is Mathematics but A levels in Chemistry.

Apologies for the incohirrant OP.

The job is working for a chemical engineering company in Germany which specialises in decontamination.

The title of the role is
Project management, maintenance of plants also electronically, customer contacts, R & D chemical engineering program.

I don't have a chem engineering background, just the maths.
