Expensive equipment, help me understand.

I couldn't care less whose listening, I know they will rarely try to accommodate the view that great hifi costs.
Brand loyalty is a big one too ... i refused to switch from Dynaudio speakers for 25 years, but i know there are prob better alternatives. I just love the weird bass whack they have.

I like Japanese gear, that's why I choose Yamaha and Technics. It goes back to myself having Pioneer when I was younger and I like the reliability of Japanese products.

... and here it is ... unboxed earlier. 1987 LP12 and 2026 Roksan ;-)

Both look very nice, over the Linn there are loads of mods you can do for those. Vinyl Passion do loads of mods for them. What arm do you have on the LP12?

I thought about buying a Linn but in the end went Technics 1200G.

I also came close to buying a Yamaha GT-2000 but every time I found one the seller was a distance away, so gave up looking for a Yamaha.

Its had a load of mods, motor, sub platter, karousel bearing etc + new Dynavector .... sounds good.
The North West Audio show is local to myself and I go every year. At that show there is loads of LP12's running on various setups, and they always sound very good.
