expensive hobbies

Yup. I spent most of my time travelling abroad to jump as the weather in this country doesn't lend itself too well for skydiving unfortunately. Besides, some of the rules are more relaxed abroad too! ;)

When you have 2 rigs, lots of kit, cameras, etc... it all clocks up!

I don't want to even factor in holiday costs into my skydiving costs, otherwise it'll be a bigger number  I've managed to get a fair number in this year in the UK, but still heading off to warmer climates in a couple of weeks for a boogie.

Looking forward to having to 2 rigs one day, probably when I down size. Camera helmet will be the next buy I think, bump up my total a fair bit :D

Not tried airsoft, but do go shooting at a gun range here, great fun :) 12 gauge shotgun was a bit of a shock first time though!!

I like kayaking and weightlifting.

Kayaking probably being the more expensive of the two (however it'll be a long time till I replace kit!). Apart from my food bill :X

Also this picture may make me look better than I am (not great). Probably spent around 1k on all my kit (boat, paddles, cags, helmet which was particularly expensive owing to large head, buoyancy aid etc)

Pppff. That would be namby pamby warm water diving. If youre not at risk of hypothermia and can actually see anything its too easy. English channel in winter for the win!

(Except I had to give up diving when the kids came along due to lack of cash and time - boo)

Oi! I think you'll find i'm planning on going to Iceland so nerrrr :p:p:p

Forgot the drysuit @ £800-100

I'd also swap the go pro for G12 with canon housing, macro lens and strobes - about £1000
Mask @ £45
Fins at £60
Computer and tank sender @ £700
5 tanks at £120 each

Other hobby is my old VW LT35 camper at £2000 plus £50 monthly fixing bill :D

Aye I need to get myself a decent dry suit.
I want to buy housing for my SLR but all in i'm looking at bout £2.5k and that's all bottom end stuff.

Apart from, Flare. I was expecting to see some stellar stuff in this thread.

So disappointing. :(

Woo :D

Fishing.

£1800 on a pole.
£400 on rods.
£300 on reels.
£400 on a seatbox.
£500 on luggage and clothing.
Christ knows what on terminal tackle.

Awesome sport though. Nice change from being sat in front of a PC (which I do 5 days a week).

Psht, that's nothing ;) I've been doing it for 3 and a half months straight now. Peak season is mental; up at out at 10 with a full boat of experienced divers for 2 dives, back at 2 for a quick lunch then out at 3 with the beginners, sometimes 3 individual trips, then back to fill tanks until sometime 10pm!

Where re you off to in November?

Didn't see this originally.

Heading back to Dahab, Egypt. :)

Model railways for me. I kitbuild wee narrow gauge locos. For insurance, they are valued at around £600 each to replace with factory built ones. I had a workbench at a show once and cringed when I realised I had over £7000 worth of trains sitting in front of me.
And that's without thinking of the two full display cases I have of various Hornby/Bachmann locos and boxes of coaches and wagons. Scary stuff.
