I’m probably going to get myself a laptop after Christmas (when I’ll have some money and vista will be out) I’ll be using the laptop for 3D work and given that vista eats memory I want to get as much as I can, When looking at a particular laptop it had the following memory upgrade options:
1.0GB, 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM Memory (2 x 512MB) [Included in Price]
2.0GB, 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM Memory (2 x 1024MB) [add £116 or £4/month1]
4.0GB, 533MHz DDR2 SDRAM Memory (2 x 2048MB) [add £1,365 or £47/month1
Anyone care to explain as to why there is such a HUGE jump from 2 x 1024MB and 2 x 2048MB? And is there likely to be a price drop soon given how much memory vista uses?
