Been looking at purchasing a car but I was a little skeptical about the advert on Autotrader. Luckily I've managed to locate this discount code for Experian's AutoCheck service (for those that don't know what this is, it's a check on a vehicles history, similar to a HPI check) which some of you may find useful.

Apologies for the necro-bump but these appear to have decreased in price. Discount code (AC50) still works too!
 
Still works - thank you, I use this regularly when "window" shopping nice cars seeing as the 5 checks is so cheap with 50% discount :D
 
Another Necro, but the "AC50" still works on autocheck.. £9.99 for 5 checks isn't too bad..

So Thanks OP, most other places have gotten quite expensive for basic checks.
 
Yearly necro.

Code still works. Just had to check my car, had a nightmare the insurance had classified mine as cat B despite repairing it a few years ago. It was fine, but £7.49 for peace of mind was worth it to not play on my mind all day, week, month, until I forgot...
 
I wouldn't use these checks anymore. From what I can see they only search for write offs that are recorded and not salvage auctions.

Best off using something like VCheck or Car Vertical.
 
i've just hpi'd a car using autocheck and also vcheck, both said the car had finance owing. i contacted the seller about this and he was adamant there's no finance owing, told me to use a "proper" hpi checking service, so i used hpicheck.com which was considerably more expensive unfortunately, come back as no finance owing.
you get what you pay for it seems.
