I've just got myself a UV light kit and some UV cables.

I've seen one or two sites (wont mention names) selling UV paint.

What i'm interested in knowing is the do's and dont's of painting parts, i'm not totally dumb with regard to what can be painted.

Does painting fan blades reduce the effectiveness?....

Will the paint likely contribute to extra heat?

Any help appreciated.

UV paints are water based so do not paint anything while it's switched on and allow the paint to dry before turning your PC on. I think painting the fan blades will reduce the effectiveness a little bit but it can increase the noise due to increased vibration and rough surface. Also dust might stick to the rough surface much easier. You can safely paint the middle bit of the fan to which the fan blades are attached.

Best place to paint is the edges of all your printed circuit board components - e.g. GFX cards, sound card, motherboard and the edges of the fan casings. Sounds simple and crap and boring I know but the effect looks subtle and very cool. ;)
