hi guys,
just looking for some advice,i have a gigabyte z87 hd3 mb with an i7 4770k overclocked to 4.3ghz @ 1.120v running at 100% load between 70-75 degrees stable.
if i use the software from gigabyte to oc the i7 using the auto tune feature it says its stable running the i7 at 4.8ghz but then the temps are way too high @ 100 degrees full load after a few mins.
i have got upto 4.5ghz stable @ 1.175v but once again @ full load the temps are in the 80's,which again i think is too high.
i have a cooler master seidon 120 v which obviously isnt the best cooler around, but my question is,is it worth getting a corsair hydro h110i gt to try and bring the temps down to an acceptable level to try and hit the 4.8ghz.
i dont play games but i do a lot of 3d rendering and animation....is it worth shelling out £110 for an increase from 4.3ghz to 4.8ghz,would i notice a difference do you think in rendering times,or is it not really worth paying out that for a very small increase in ghz??
really appreciate any advice given....cheers guys
