hi guys,

just looking for some advice,i have a gigabyte z87 hd3 mb with an i7 4770k overclocked to 4.3ghz @ 1.120v running at 100% load between 70-75 degrees stable.

if i use the software from gigabyte to oc the i7 using the auto tune feature it says its stable running the i7 at 4.8ghz but then the temps are way too high @ 100 degrees full load after a few mins.

i have got upto 4.5ghz stable @ 1.175v but once again @ full load the temps are in the 80's,which again i think is too high.

i have a cooler master seidon 120 v which obviously isnt the best cooler around, but my question is,is it worth getting a corsair hydro h110i gt to try and bring the temps down to an acceptable level to try and hit the 4.8ghz.

i dont play games but i do a lot of 3d rendering and animation....is it worth shelling out £110 for an increase from 4.3ghz to 4.8ghz,would i notice a difference do you think in rendering times,or is it not really worth paying out that for a very small increase in ghz??

really appreciate any advice given....cheers guys

thanks for the reply pasty....its the actual 3d rendering software thats drawing 100% load on the cpu for the renders i create and animations.

i cannot be exact as to the voltage but i think it was in the region of 1.3??but im pretty sure it can be lowered manually as when i used the auto oc feature when i did it to 4.3ghz before.... which i have now,i think it put the voltage upto 1.25v......which when i did it manually i dropped it to 1.120v and its stable and running much lower temps.
