Hi im new around here and it would be great if someone could tell me whether this build will work and perform well. It would be nice if someone could point out any parts that could be got cheaper or changed totally. So this is what i have come up with:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 £131

Asus P5Q-E 1 £110

Nvidia 9800 GT £92

Corsair 4GB Kit (2x2GB) DDR2 800MHz £40

Seagate ST3750330AS 16 MB cache £61

Samsung Lightscribe S202N £19

Windows Vista Home Premium £79

Thermaltake case shark £80

Corsair 450W VX Series PSU £ 67

Looking good only thing I would change is the 9800GT to the ATI 4850.

I'd change to a 4850 too (or if you have the cash then a 4870),But i would aslo change the mobo to a P5Q Pro,The psu to a Corsair 520w and the harddrive to a 640Gb Samsung Spinpoint F1 :)

Thanks for the replies, i think i will go for the Pro its a little cheaper and not really a lot of difference. Im not sure about changing the HDD though as i could do with the extra space.

Samsung F1 is one of the fastest HDD on the market at this moment ;)
Mobo - My advise - DFI DK P45 T2RS - IHMO better than Asus. But if you'll decide go for Asus buy P5Q-E - it is better cooling, onboard switch and better Audio ;)

Unless you go for its looks, Scrap that & get the Antec 900 instead.

The antec 900 does not have dust filters and gathers a lot of dust inside the case, onto the components,The antec 300 and 1200 are better as they do have dust covers :)

***Edit*** The antec 300 may look plain but you could always add your own LED fans to make it look more like the 900/1200 :)***Edit***
