I need it to surf the web, to do some office work and thats about it...

Is it future proof? is it worth it? Its £300, is the processor any good?

Please please help?

Thanks in advance..

Nearly ANY new laptop is worth £300. Nothing in computers is future proof especially for £300. It be fine for office and internet.

Future Proof and Laptop is a oxymoron, you can upgrade memory and HD and that's it. I would really aim for 1GB RAM (512MB is borderline with XP now, and being that laptop hard drives are slow you don't want to run out of memory) Also aim for Centrino, Celeron are rubbish

I had a laptop with 512MB RAM fwiw.

do you think this laptop would struggle with basic photoshop work?

do you think it could handle some basic / intermediate games? is that gfx card any good?

Yup celeron is pants. You can get a laptop with a Intel core duo, and sometimes core 2 Duo processor for around 400-450 pounds. Get around 1gb Ram, and around 80gb harddrive and you're set.

Not that I would buy from them, but Dell usually have laptops going for insanely low prices, look for offers. But check they don't add rip-off carriage, and that VAT is included (usually small print so after VAT might and £75 delivery not that cheap)
