Don't drink on the regular but when we do board game weekends (i know how exciting) we will grab a few cans of monster just to keep us alert.

Anyhow was at a carboot this morning, bought like 30 cans but stupidly didnt check the date. I bought some before that were only a month or two past sell by date and were fine.

These are about a year past sell by date april 2022. Ive had one and seems fine tbh but just wanted to run it by GDers.

Will they be ok to drink?

surprised people drink energy drinks. if you look at the ingredients on the side of the can it looks like a list of ingredients that a russian agent would put into someones drink to have them eliminated

There are companies all over the UK that specialise in selling canned, tinned, bottled and dried food products which are past the best before date.

But that's the thing about a best before date. There is no certain time period where the product, if kept safe and dry, will become inedible.

Fresh food has a use by date because they are unstable and are certain to decompose in a matter of days-weeks.

I had a tin of spam that fell out of a shopping bag and was in the boot of my car for about 4 years.

Keep in mind the temperature variation from what, -5c to 40c?

Anyway I eventually found it and opened it, it was perfectly fine.

I reckon stuff like that would last a loooong time, 10+ years.

Spam will probably outlive cockroaches
