explain memory speed 1300Mhz v 3200Mhz

32 Gb DDR3 1333Mhz or 32 Gb DDR3 3200Mhz for old pc running truenas running an AMD A10-6700 AGU with 2x8Gb 3200Mhz looking to upgrade to 2x16GB of ram
i am out of the loop for so long i dont have a clue about the speed, any help ?

So if it's just to run a NAS, I can't see spending money on new faster RAM helping that much.

If it was ECC RAM, yes. That makes a difference to data storage.

thanks i was pondering upgrading to a ryzen/ddr4 set up but as you say its only for plex\file storage

You should strongly consider ECC RAM then.

I'd browse that forum to see what people suggest. I'm sure that there are Truenas nuts on this forum but I haven't seen any.
