Explain to me the Kardashians ?

First off, thank you for the explanation. You know there's a 'but' so ...

But everyone portrays an image of themselves, at all times, and even when we don't mean to. The Kardashians have made it a lifestyle choice and it furthers their brand (regardless of your views on said brand). I think what I'm saying is that Kourtney would be a ton of fun in a whisky den and the others are, I'm sure, nice but not useful.

It was just a careful fabrication, like the personalities themselves.
 
Isn't this an American centric problem though , we/UK don't have these Pide-Piper cult celebrities,
it's like the Branch Dividians, where they have women/accolites who aspire to be like her, be that cosmetic surgery/make-up/clothes/body-dysmorphia,
believing too, that she represents some beauty ideal for the majority male gaze - well, as evidenced above, some men are in this cult too.

The #metoo organization needs to look inwards for some of the root cause of that problem, it's self-inflicted.
 
She’s a very shrewd businesswoman / personality who used her good looks when younger and connections (and she was before the ass but subjective) to her advantage and got her foot in the door to many business opportunities inc modelling, fashion, make up, TV, influencer and many more.

congrats to her, it wasn’t easy otherwise everyone would be multi millionaires but she is now loaded.
 
I don't watch Really, or even ITV 1, so I have no idea who any of these people are.

I think that's the best way. Given what features in the trailers for the various programmes on offer, I don't think I'm missing much.

I'm guessing she isn't going to be winning the Nobel prize for science or curing cancer or anything like that.
 
I've lived under a rock for my entire life and have never watched any TV or read News stories etc
I have never heard of the Kardashians.

Note also she was also a PA to Paris Hilton... Paris made some $$$ from being famous for being famous. She also had a nice little boost from a sex tape released by an ex in 2004:

This was probably a pivotal moment for her and in turn for her family - she'd been connected to some celebs etc.. prior to this, her late father was well known because of OJ but it was really the sex tape that launched her into the spotlight and lead to the reality TV deal.

Obvs that reality TV deal has made the whole clan famous - both Kim and her half-sister Kylie are reported "billionaires" - in Kylies case it has allegedly been exaggerated though she's almost certainly a cetimillionaire several times over and quite plausibly not all that far off being a billionaire.

Some of the others are just riding the coattails and are really being carried by the rest - see for example Khloe, nothing particularly special about her:

Kendall is the one that is legitimately hot - she'd quite plausibly be a model regardless of the famous family, she perhaps wouldn't have been quite as prominent/famous for it mind but she's plausible and it's not just because of her fame - for example, her younger sister doesn't have the same model figure and is successful because of her business interests, won't get booked for modelling campaigns Kendall gets etc..

In as much as you aren't wasting your time on utter dross, then yes.

I mean it's fairly harsh for me to proclaim it's utter dross without having seen any of their shows, but I'm going to anyway :p It looks like dross, quacks like dross, and it's on the dross channels.... so...
 
The MTV show ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians’ allegedly earns them $30m per season, they are now on their 17 season.
 
Credit to her she's used what she has to make more than probably all Of us. I know people say girls have it hard.. But if you're willing to do anything I'm convinced it's easier for an average women to make More money than the average man ever could.
Genuinely amazed more don't do it. If I could make money out of looks and not work 9 to 5.id do it in an instant.

But also seen a bit of 'so much pressure' article from one of these. You can't really have it both ways. If you don't like it. Just leave Social media. You've made plenty. It's how you made yourself, with image.

Additional. I knew there were two of these girls. But I didn't know the other ones name. I'm quite disconnected from that world.

I'm not salty. I think it's great. Use what you have. She's obviously smart enough to make most of the hand she was given. But don't moan when what made you is what hurts you.

Like the girls who sell bathwater. I just can't believe guys pay for it! :D

I'm in no way saying that.
I'm saying in that area women have a market where with no qualifications and not much work you can make a load of money.
The market for that for guys is much much smaller.

The programs that the kardashians do are likely targeted at mixed sex. Probably more women than men. But you can't say the bath water type are targeted at anything other than men.
