Exploding microwave meals

Has anyone had any experience recently with microwave meals exploding all over the place? I’ve had a couple of M&S curries in the last week or two and both times curry has ended up all over the plate and most recently all over the inside of my microwave too.

I’m piercing the film a lot of times so I don’t think it’s entirely due to pressure build up, although on the worst case the film was raised when I took it out of the microwave then sank back down.

I’m heating them in line with the instructions so not sure what’s going wrong? It does seem that the plastic trays are warping a bit so whether that’s allowing the contents out I don’t know?

Microwaved a chicken pasta bake from Tesco last week at 850W, for the time that was suggested for 800W microwaves, and the chicken came out frozen. Had to put it back in for another 4 minutes.

Microwaved a Lasagne from Tesco 2 days later at 850W, again for the same time suggested for 800W microwaves, and I heard it explode roughly half way through. Looked like a cat had a Vindaloo the night before and decided to use my microwave as a toilet.

Microwave times are plucked out of thin air.

The problem is that you're using a microwave to heat ready meals.
Use an oven, hob or open fire, and cook proper food instead of preservative-laden reconstituted plastic.... :p

Edit: Unless you're playing Cyberpunk 2077, in which case nuking up synthetic junk food is perfectly in keeping with the genre and a preem way of enhancing your game immersion, choom!!
