explorer.exe application error Oxc0000005

Trying to fix someones asus Eeepc on startup get this error in any mode including safe mode explorer doesn't load in and hitting control alt delete does nothing.

Anything I can do to fix this help very appreciated.

Also how on earth do you install xp back on these things ? usb stick ?

this thing is horrible asus eee pc 900 there's no disc or anything from the owner.

Yea the cd key is there I am confused as I dont know which Boot disk image: MS Windows XP System Setup Disk file I am supposed to use

Is this guide correct ? http://forum.eeeuser.com/viewtopic.php?id=1888 in step 3 which Boot disk image am I supposed to use ?

I don't have a usb dvd drive I am trying to install the OS from a usb stick using an image of the disc.

That guide is so vague but thanks yes I have an iso of the xp disc

Never mind weirdly it just fixed itself somehow it just booted normally.
