I'm using Windows 7 and I have a mapped drive which is causing a few problems. Sometimes opening a program (like a music player, file manager etc) takes a while to load as I think it's trying to open a disconnected network drive. Even when trying to save an excel spreadsheet and choosing the location to where to save to it causes it to freeze.

I've disconnected the mapped drive now, and I can do all of above fine. Is there a way around this? as it shouldn't be like this.

Thanks

Not really as you've said it's a disconnected drive and hence the reason it's slow. If you have access to the drive then it'll be fine if it's disconnected it will try and reconnect it which slows things down.
