Exporting firefox settings?

I am planning to re-install windows this evening.

I would like to export my bookmarks, cookies and settings from firefox.

I presume this is possible if so how?

open this:

bookmarks

organize bookmarks

tab at top import and backup

then to restore:

restore

choose file

i haven't tried it myself but im sure it will work

for cookies maybe try this: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/cookie-exporter/

or something called mozbackup might work

Another solution is to use the portable version of firefox
Stick it on a partition that aint your main OS
and that way if you re-install it will still be un-effected.

I started using firefox that way a few years ago
When you have 3 different version of windows installed it is nice to have one
firefox dir that they all can use, without having to install it 3 times.
