Is it possible to extend the range of my sky hub by wirelessly connecting it to my 2nd Netgear DGN3500 hub and then re-broadcasting the signal via the netgear hub?

Yep. Turn DHCP off on router2 and give it a static IP that's on the right subnet but outside of router1's DHCP pool. Then connect them by a long ethernet cable.

i have a similar question if i may jump in here. My home hub 3 is located in my kitchen and will have to remain so.
I have a spare home hub 2 and was wanting to know if i can use it in my living room as an extender so to speak and use the lan ports to connect my home cinema receiver and Sky HD box.

Before looking into this thread I did already go into the HH2, turn of dhcp and give it a static ip, although its an ip address within the DHCP pool of my home hub 3.

Ca this be done done? i cant connect a cat cable from HH3 to HH2, I was hoping the HH3 would just pick up the HH2 as an extender.

I also changed the HH2 said settings to match that of the HH3 if thats necessary???

I think it might be a bit more tricky with the home hub. I have very little experience of the newer models, I have flashed the older models back to their native speedtouch but even then they were pretty useless and it was only worth doing to work with a different ISP.

Asuming both the hh2 & 3 are speedtouch/thomson devices I think the functionality would be quite limited anyway.

Being able to use a router as a ranger extention or as a repeater means you need to be able to modify them as with westyfields post.
