I currently have a WRT54GL with tomato firmware sharing Virgin Media bb between two PC's in my house using wires. My next door neighbour recently got a laptop and he is now connecting to the internet using my wireless network. (Currently set on 'Access Point' in my router settings though not sure if thats correct or whether thats the source of the following problem
i just messed with settings until his laptop picked it up)
He must be using the laptop in the conservatory in order to get a signal of around 40-60%, if he goes further into the house away from the wireless signal then it disconnects. I have doubled the transmit power of my wireless signal to no avail.
I was thinking of getting a second WRT54GL which would be used to pick up my wireless signal from his conservatory and then let his laptop pick up the signal anywhere in his house off this second router.
I've read through this forum and as far as I know I set the second router to WDS whatever that is and this should all work?
edit: bit more reading and apparently I set the second router to Wireless Client?
