Extend volume/partition?

Hi,

I have a Red Hat virtual machine and the disc space is getting a bit tight on it so was wanting to extend the volume.

I have increased the size of the vhd, how do I go about getting linux to recognize this increase in space though?

You'll need to grow the file system. Theres a nice pretty GUI for it somewhere, if not reference an article like so:

I'm trying to follow this through

But when i get to step 9:
Run this command to extend the physical volume:
# vgextend VolGroup00 /dev/sda3

I get the error "VolGroup00" Not found

Are you using VolGroups?

do df if your mounts are on something like /dev/Xda1 then you aint
