Any issues with having a 24" widescreen as the primary monitor and extending the desktop onto a 19" normal monitor or do they need to be same size / res?
I have a 24" and a 21" both diff resolutions and they work fine on XP. If you have an NV card you can figure them separately through the NV control panel. Alternatively just do it through XP.
I've got a 20" sammy and a 32" toshiba hdtv, running the tv as an extended desktop through vista was a bit dodgy at first, no real problems now though! I think these problems came from one being a tv and one being a monitor though, so there should be no problems with 2 monitors!
Dual monitor are fine whatever the res, the only problem I've found is when you have different aspect ratios (4:3 and 16:9) and want to clone the display.
I hooked up my old 15"crt alongside my acer 19"widescreen lcd the other day before finally making the descision to bin the crt. That was 1440x900 and 1024x768 running off a fairly rubbish HD3450, and the driver crashed (8.7, since upgraded to 8.10) after half an hours browsing, mind the GPU temp was up to 79c and it's only passively cooled.
Just a quick question on this subject. Does anyone know if there be any problems running nHancer in Vista x64 and a 24" BENQ LCD monitor (native 1920 x 1200)and a 21" Samsung LCD monitor (1680 x 1050)? I wish to run the the game IL2 forgotten battles on the 24" with Teamspeak and a bombsight table on the 21"!
