I am looking for a solution to a wifi problem I am currently experiencing.

I have the Virgin 100 package with a superhub 3 but the wifi coverage in one of the upstairs rooms is pretty bad. Everywhere else seems fine, even outside of the room is ok.

What do I need to improve this as cheap as possible?
Ideally I would like something that repeats the existing wifi without having a separate ssid? As the devices in the black spot do actually connect to the poor wifi I want them to choose the best signal without any user input.
Reason for this is that I have a powerline adapter with wifi elsewhere that does need me to turn wifi off then on again for it to connect to the better signal.

Hope this makes sense...

Ditch the power line kit and and run a cable to the upstairs landing or loft and connect a PoE access point (AP) to the end of it. Alternatively buy a decent mesh kit, by decent I mean one you can run a cable to each node ideally, or at a minimum with a dedicated radio for backhaul, cheap mesh shares radio between clients and backhaul and tends to suck.

In terms of cost, it’s hard not to like the Huwawei AX3 or AX3 Pro for the money.

Could I just add in a tp link ac1200 to handle the wifi with the SH3 in modem mode?
If that doesn't improve, I could use the ac1200 as an ap in the black spot asi already have a cable to that room.

Where exactly is the SH3 sited? Reason I ask is people have some strange fascination with putting them in less than ideal positions like in corners or behind big RF shielded TV's. If that's the case i'd suggest trying to put the TP Link in a more central location if possible, but you can certainly try it. The obvious problem is any gain is limited to the antennae set-up the TP Link has vs the SH3 as they are both legally limited to the same output, but it could be enough for your needs.

It's in a corner but not behind a tv. I have a little shelf in a100mm recess where I also hide the cabling below.
I only need the wifi for my daughter to watch a bit of netflix and browse yt etc on her phone and pc, so nothing strenuous.
