Extending a vehicles warranty

My personal vehicles warranty runs out end of May however I have a company car on order which won't be ready for another 10 weeks.

Rather than having to pay out £1500 for a years extended warranty I wondered if it's possible just to get 3 months cover which would be somewhat cheaper. I'm sure the stealer won't give me £1100 back for having 10 month warranty on the car.

I'll ofc make more enquiries tomorrow , just wondered if anyone has been in a similar circumstance and is aware of a 3 month cover deal.

Thanks
Mad

If you car isnt on its last legs, do you really need a warranty for 3 months?

Most manufacturers extended warranties allow a monthly option. Is that an option here?

not entirely sure if it's an option guess I'll find out tomorrow.

The car is mechanically sound, however no guarantee that the transmission or engine wouldn't have a problem in the next 10 weeks, it's very unlikely however if it did it would be hugely expensive hence the warranty gives me piece of mind.

Agreed. I don't think for the sake of 3 months its worth bothering with. if your car is new and still covered by the manufacturers warranty, if something catastrophic went wrong a few weeks outside of that, I'd be looking for at least a goodwill gesture.

My mum decided not to renew the warranty for a month until the replacement arrived, the timing chain slipped and took out half the valves.

Expensive decision as it was 5 years old so no good will contribution. The dealer supplying her new car did fix it for no labour charge but she had to cover the parts.
