Hi,
Currently I have a 25ft Hdmi cable going from a Hdmi splitter to my pc (elgato hd60 pro) but for a while now the audio has being going out of sync.

If you watch while my pc is recording the audio looks to be all OK and in sync. Soon as you stop the recording and playback on my pc you can see the audio is oos and gets worse throughout the recording. (also tried on my HTPC with the same problem)

I guess the problem is because of the length of Hdmi cable? .... if so is there anyway of boosting the signal?

Hdmi splitter (240v powered)
Amazon Basic Hdmi cable (25 feet)

easier just to move the pc closer? or move whatever your source is closer to pc.

or buy a better quality HDMI cable. and by higher quality i don't mean a £100 one i mean one by a reputable brand like IBRA or that german supplier with the blue tips.

ok so a decent cable should sort my sync problems?

From the rainforest site?

IBRA® PRO GOLD RED Range is a HDMI 2.0/1.4a Vesion Super High Quality and a High Speed HDMI cable with 2160P,3D,Ethernet (Connector Type A to A)

if you connect a display (as opposed to elgato) directly on the 25ft hdmi does that fail too ? if not then it is the elgato that may have the problem ....
more likely to be a hardware elgato or splitter issue than cable if it had been working.

no mate, picture is ok. Even when recording the preview window looks in sync too.

Have tried 3 different splitters with same results.

Also tried a HD PVR 2 with same results so not the Elgato.

Elgato support were not much use. Tried everything they mentioned in the end they passed it onto 2nd Line support and not had a reply.

If it's getting to the PC in sync and it's only after being recorded that it's out of sync then I doubt the problem is the HDMI cable.

Is the capture card recording in exactly the same FPS as the source? Or maybe it's recording at variable framerate instead of fixed.

Just recording 1 now to check.

I think it is a constant framerate @50fps.

ok Audio is recording at a Variable bitrate.

the longer cable of HDMI you buy it's better to buy better quality. People say HDMI either works or it doesn't well I can tell you that is BS I had a cheap failing cable and was giving me a green picture. it may not be the cable but he can eliminate if it is or not by spending £5 on a better cable

ok have just bought the IBRA cable mentioned above.

My HDMI splitter says it supports cables upto 10m. (240v plug)

Max Cable Extension: 10 meters by 28AWG HDMI cable
