I've recently built a new desk and as a result the original cable that came with my K7XX only just reaches the amp. There isn't much slack in the cable for me to move around much with the headphones on. I bought a Fisual S-Flex Mini 2m 3.5mm Jack Extension Cable and connected it to the original cable and thought that'd be it. However the sounds are a bit 'off' and things like footsteps and commentary in Witcher 3 are barely audible compared to just having the original cable plugged in. Is it the cable or something else? Am I better of just buying a really long 3.5mm to mini xlr cable?

This is how the original cable and adapter I bought connect (male headphone cable, female adapter)

This is how adapter connects to other adapter so I can connect it to my amp

Is how the original cable and amp adapter connect. Notice how the adapter is able to be screwed onto the cable? I can't do that with the adapter cable I bought. Is that the problem?

The extension cable probably isn't fully inserted into the adapter. Search online for "3.5mm to 1/4 adapter" and find one without the threaded part. That should fix it.

Yeah, it's either not inserted properly or it's faulty because I also run a 2m extension and have no problems whatsoever.

It is pushed into the amp adapter as far as it will go. Could be the one I have is designed to be screwed on rather than pushed all the way. The adapter I've ordered will confirm either way.

I currently have my AKG K702s (3.5mm screw plug) inserted into my push fit 2m extension and they sound fine.
