Extending monitor USB upstream cable?

I'm planning to plug my peripherals into my monitor that has a USB hub built in. The included USB upstream cable isn't long enough, can I just use an extension cable to increase it's length without any issues?

It depends how long you want it to be. I’d buy a cable if the correct length instead of messing around with extensions.

4m in total, the monitor comes with a decent upstream cable already but it's 1m.

Yeh just buy the correct cable length and make sure its the same usb revision.

I'll echo the others. Just buy a cable of the right length. 5m USB 3.0 cables aren't exactly expensive.

OK I'll grab a 5m (seems no one does 4m, it's 3 or 5) USB 3.0 A to B.

Yep, but 5m is longer and wider than my room
