Not very familiar with networking so perhaps an easy question.

Internet connection is received from a wireless signal.
Can I:

Use a wireless adaptor/router to receive the signal and make it available via ethernet to a machine/machines?
Secondly is it possible to repeat the wireless signal?

If I can use a router for this, does it need to be a cable router or will any wireless router work?

Can anyone recommend a particular model?

Thanks

Linksys WRT54GL router running tomato firmware set it up as a wireless -> ethernet bridge, 4 ports on the router to connect your clients to job done.

As for repeating wireless you *can* do this although generally its a bad idea as you lose a lot of throughput on the wireless link. IMO it is also done very poorly by consumer grade gear to the point where you are better off just running a second access point with the same SSID/encryption settings and fix them onto two non overlapping channels.
