Extending the myth of high quality cables

LOL Sony. I guess this is what they might be turning to now after the possibility that they may pull out of the TV and smartphone markets came up. They need to generate extra income somehow, other than relying on Playstation. What better way than to sell some cheaply made memory cards all nicely wrapped with an 'audiophile' label and nice packaging.

As if they don't rip-off people enough with the proprietary memory card for PS VITA etc already

The difference is you need those for the Vita, you don't need these for anything. If you buy them you're mental.

They all do it though. Where I work we sell SanDisk MicroSD cards; the ones in camera-orientated packaging are a different price to the ones in smartphone-orientated packaging despite being otherwise identical.

The ones used for recording high definition video need faster transfer speeds than those used in phones.

For audio though, any reasonably quick card will do just fine and Sony's "but it creates less EM noise" is pure snake oil.

I'm still VERY annoyed by how the VITA is delibrately made to not support video out to TV via HDMI for example, so they can sell some half-braked product like the Vita TV. Yea Vita TV can play Vita games on TV, but it's pretty only semi-working since not all Vita games are compatable, and it wouldn't have touch-screen function because of the joypad...

I know, but as I said, the ones I was talking about are identical cards in different packaging for different prices. It's just marketing which inevitably some people will fall for.
