Hi guys,

I am after some advice on an item I need to purchase, The router I was using downstairs has died today so I need to replace it,

At the moment I have my Virgin media hub upstairs in the office, I run a mains powered home plug from here into the living room which I then had a spare router connected to so I could wire my TV & Xbox (and some other things), All was working great until this morning,

Rather than buy a new router or a switch I have been thinking id like to extend my wireless network as my wireless devices get really poor reception once leaving the room where the media hub lives,

Im confused on what to purchase as Im not really sure what is out on the market that will suit my needs, Ideally I would like some sort of device that will extend my wireless network so I have good coverage in the living room and kitchen and also have a 4/5 port hub/switch so I can connect my xbox, ps3, tv etc.

I do have a spare 5 port switch I could throw into the mix if someone was to reccomend a wireless extender with ethernet port, really unsure whats about so I need help

Thanks a lot guys, always helpful :)

Would this work alongside my TL-PA201 homeplugs ? Cant find anywhere on the internet that says so.

Does anyone see a problem connecting the WPA281 to my existing network, I could plug this into a spare wall socket in my living room just for the wireless and use my 5 port hub to connect my tv ps3 etc.

Thanks guys.

You should have no problems having those working together.

The WPA281 has an Ethernet outlet as well as acting as a wireless access point. You could install it in place of the PA201 in the living room and plug your switch into it.

Worked perfect, really easy to setup and had strong wireless connection all over the house.

Great stuff :D
