Hi everyone - wondering if someone can give me some advice.
My dad has recently bought an ipod touch and Bose speaker system which he is using in the kitchen. He basically intends to use it for itunes and also spotify and internet radio (which he will use with the wireless network in the house).
The problem is that the router is in the study about 10 metres away (with 2 walls inbetween). He's with TalkTalk and using their basic D-link router. At present the wireless reception on the touch is 1 bar and this keeps dropping the connection to the network so online radio keeps pausing whilst the touch reconnects.
Now I've done a bit of research as to how to boost the network strength (I've already tried adjusting the router antenna):
1) Buy a repeater - BUT I've heard mixed reviews on how good these are
2) Buy a new router - I suspect the D-link router is pants and could be too weak (I'm leaning towards buying a stronger router)
If anyone has any opinions/advice I'd be very appreciative!
Cheers
