Extending Wireless - What do I need?

Afternoon all,

Having abit of a brain fart atm, been out of networking for a while and theres lots of new 'tech' so hoping you can advise..

The mother has a Virgin 'Superhub' upstairs which is the only place it can be, but the wireless from it downstairs is awful.

I have 2 x powerlines, 1 upstairs with ethernet into back of router, and the other downstairs ready to plug some device into to create another wireless network downstairs with a better throughput.

I've just removed an old Apple airport express which was doing the job but need to buy something new now.

I'm under the impression These just extended the wireless by connecting to the wireless as a pose to creating a wireless network connected to the ethernet? Correct?

What do i need!?

Also assume These TPLink extenders don't do the job i'm after?

Might just cop out abit more and grab something like this and just setup as another wifi network with dhcp off etc.

I was looking at "extending" but went another route. I did however take interest in this because its discrete.

it extends but it can also be an access point via the lan port.

ac wireless looked quite decent but a tad expensive.
