I got Be installed a couple of days ago and the speeds were very good but I felt they were slightly lower than I should have been getting.
So I plugged the router directly into the test socket and got a boost of 1Mbps.

I checked the wiring on the back of the master socket face plate and it has all the wires connected when as far as I am aware you only need wires 2 and 5.

I then checked the wiring on the back of the extension socket where the router plugs into and it also had all the wires connected but the rear of the face plate was different to that of the master socket is this normal?
And if I disconnect the wires on the master socket should I also disconnect them on the extension socket?

Thanks in advance. :)

BT says your not allowed to touch the wires on the master socket but I did anyway all I did was remove the ring wire leaving only the wires on 2 and 5, doing this gave me an extra 3 meg on my ADSL line.
