I've got an exterior front light next to the front door, uses a 40W screw in mini type bulb and has a motion sensor. Bought it from Homebase about a year ago and its worked fine in that time although it has popped a couple of bulbs now and then.
Anyway, noticed it wasn't working last night so changed the bulb on it today. Now that its got a bit darker it still won't work. Changed the bulb again although the replacement one looked fine and still no dice. Had a good look inside the light fitting itself for a fuse of some sort but there doesn't seem to be one in there. The wire vanishes into the brick wall next to where the light is fitted but I've no idea where it goes after that. I have looked for a fuse elsewhere but can't find one. Checked the main consumer unit and nothing is tripped there either. There is of course the possibility that the light unit itself is broken, probably the motion sensor if anything. But I'd like to see if I can check the fuse, surely there must be one somewhere? Any ideas? We have a security floodlight at the back of the house and the fuse for that is strangely enough, upstairs on the wall in a rear bedroom next to a plug. But I've had a look upstairs for a similar fuse type deal to no avail. House is a fairly recent build, Barratt House from about 10 years old.
