External Bluray for MKV/Plex?

Hi guys,
I want to get a external bluray drive and convert my bluray collection to use with Plex so I can start storing them on my Drobo drive.
Do all the latest drives work with Macs? I have a Macbook Pro will this cope with straight ripping to keep all the HD audio/1080p?

Also any suggestions for which one to go for? :confused:

Someone posted on here a while back about using a Blu-Ray drive with a Mac, but there were some weird caveats about what you could actually do with it. I forget what exactly, but you might be able to find something if you search, or someone might be able to point you in the right direction.

The drive will work, but you'll need to rip and remux with MakeMKV to get any use out of it. Doing so is a lot faster under Windows by the way.
