I know you said you're looking to spend about £40, I don't really know any microphones at that price so I thought I'd recommend the 'RODE VideoMic with Rycote Lyre Mount' if you can reach that far. As long as your cameras pre-amp isn't a massive turd the results should be pretty good! If you can't stretch to £80 it may atleast make a good starting point.
You're not going to get a fantastic quality mic for £40. You'll get something OK but don't expect miracles.
Make sure you get a mount and a good foam padding OR try and find a cheap deadcat for it. And make sure it's stereo. May seem obvious but it's an easy mistake to make. I'd try to save up and go for a better mic at around £80.
