External eSata RAID 1 Enclosure

Hey guys,

I am after an external RAID enclosure (only needs to hold two disks) so that I can set up a RAID 1 array for redundancy. I wanted eSata preferably than USB3 (but having both could be quite useful if I wanted to connect my laptop to it too). It's going to be connected to my computer pretty much all the time anyway, so the faster I can transfer the better (I was worried about the saturation of USB devices may slow a USB3 connection down?).

The main purpose of the box is so I can store my important documents and have at least some redundancy, and also to store some of my larger project work (videos, graphic work). My other drives in my computer are getting pretty full, so wanted to sort through everything and keep my important stuff separate.

As I said, I would likely want to keep some of my video work on this, which would mean that I would also like to do video editing straight onto the enclosure itself - would it be fast enough to do this?

I am looking to get some WD Red drives to go into it (2x 3TB most likely), but just finding an enclosure that would be best I'm having trouble with. I don't want to spend a great amount on it, but does anyone have any suggestions?

Cheers,
Jamie
