External FDD

Hi, does the external floppy disk drive works the same as an internal one? Just wondering.

What do you mean by "works the same"?? :confused:

I have an USB floppy drive and it works just as well as an internal one.

Ah right, cheers, thats the answer I'm looking for.

Cause I have to update my bios and don't got an internal floppy drive and way too lazy to open and assemble it. So decided to go with an external FDD.

Depends on the board I think, I've heard of people having problems with flashing BIOSes from a USB floppy.

Well I've flashed my BIOS with the USB FDD with no probs, it also boots Ghost and install SATA F6 drivers in Windows setup fine; it works exactly the same way as an internal one as long as BIOS supports USB boot device.

My board is the 680i one. Any problems with flashing it via ext fdd?
