A little while back I bought all the components necessary to build an external GPU for my macbook pro (Mid 2015).
The parts:
Akitio Thunder2 Pcie Box.
(to connect the GPU to my Macbook via Thunderbolt cable).
Zotac GTX 980.
EVEA PSU 500W.
I managed to short the PSU (my original problem) so it runs as if it were attached to a full PC. BUT, the GPU makes no noise, it doesn't light up and no fans spin. Moreover, the nvidia software doesn't recognise any GPU attachment. This was my first attempt at a build, I got the parts list from a website which had them all listed as part of a "kit" for macbooks so it should work somehow.
Someone please suggest something, I really invested in this.
