As title, I can't seem to stop my external 20TTB HDD (attached via USB via calldigit TS3) from disconnecting when my MBP is in locked mode.

I have set the power options to not power down hard drives when power is attached, so I'm not sure what else I can do ? Any suggestions ?

I use my MBP as my desktop also - so its plugged into my thunderbolt Calldigit TS3 'dock' with all my desktop drives, monitors etc attached to that

Sorry. I haven't had that problem on my Mac Studio. I have two external SSDs that are always plugged in and running. Have you tried just locking the screen instead of putting it to sleep?

Thanks for the comment, yes my external SSD's don't disconnect at all & run fine - this is a spinning HDD that disconnects.

Yes tried both, locking or sleep, it disconnects, defo set the power options to not spin any disks down.
