Got a Toshiba external hard drive, used it for a bit, had it about 2 months, got most of my music on there after I backed up for a format, trying to copy it all back over, amongst other files, when I copy it, it starts to go ok and then the computer just freezes, screen just freezes as it is and I have to restart.

This happens with my Toshiba 500GB, I vaguely remember it happening once or twice on my mates which I borrowed once, but this ones every time!

On my little Westernal Digital Passport I have no problems at all?

Any ideas? Ill probley take it back to the local shop but would be nice not to have too.

Ty, Dave

How much power does your PSU have?

Does the Toshiba run off its own power supply?

External Hard Drives, although some have their own dedicated Power Supply, can still demand quite some USB power to move files etc....
