Hi, I have an external usb hard drive (Freecom 160GB) which is permanently plugged into my USB port. Occasionally when i do a cold-boot, the POST status screen scans the drives (primary, secondary etc), but it hangs when it gets to the external/USB drive.
Does anyone have any thoughts as to why this is? It is very frustrating.
As a second point, does anyone know why i sometimes get the following message:
"overclocking failed. press f1 for setup or f10 to load default settings"?
There never seems to be a reason for this to happen... ie the computer was last shut down normally.
My specs are:
Asus A8S-X mobo (sis 756 northbridge, sis965l southbridge, BIOS 0801)
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (Venice 939 core)
4 x 256Mb of Ram
ATI Radeon X800 SE PCI-E (R423)
Akasa PaxPower 400W
Many thanks in advance,
Ferg
